The CGR Mural Program
In 2021, we launched our CGR Mural Program as part of our Creative Arts initiative, spearheaded by CGR Lead Mural Artist, Elisheba Mrozik. This program teaches young girls and women the essential design principles and techniques for crafting uplifting mural paintings. Participants gain invaluable artistic and cultural insights from seasoned professionals, engaging in creative expression, honing their skills, and collaborating on community-centered mural projects. Through this initiative, both youth and adults are empowered to reclaim agency over their surroundings, recognizing the transformative potential of their creativity in enhancing their communities.
Creative Girls Rock has greatly expanded our CGR Mural Project program in the past year, and we now have several high-visibility murals crafted by 160 participants of all ages on display across Greater Nashville. The completed murals are located at WeGo Elizabeth Duff transit Center, McKissack Middle School, John Early Middle School, Slim and Husky’s Nashville, Napier Elementary School, Jones Paideia Elementary School, Purpose Prep Academy, The Healing Trust Foundation; and, 5 mobile murals that were displayed at Tennessee State University, Napier, Nashville Public Library: Bordeaux, Downtown and Madison branches.

John Early Museum Magnet Middle School - March 2024
The John Early Museum Magnet Middle School mural, the latest creation by Creative Girls Rock®️ (CGR) Lead Mural Artist, Elisheba "Queen" Mrozik, stands as a testament to the rich history of North Nashville. Funded by FirstBank, it honors the exceptional individuals who have left indelible marks on the community.
From Marvin Moore's pioneering integration efforts at Jones Elementary School (now Jones Paideia Elementary) to Nathan Harris's influential Woodcuts Art Gallery and Sharon Kay's transformative work with Fisk Jazzy 88, the mural showcases the diverse tapestry of North Nashville's heritage.
Through CGR's perspective, it not only celebrates these unsung heroes but also elevates their narratives alongside the renowned Tigerbell figure of Wilma Rudolph, underscoring the collective resilience and ingenuity of the community.

Napier Elementary School Mural Project - March 2023
During Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) Spring Break, Creative Girls Rock®️ added more murals to the Greater Nashville community in partnership with Elisheba "Queen" Mrozik and the North Nashville Arts Coalition. March 13-15, 2023, Napier Elementary students enriched their lives while learning about colors and how to use them to create a mural in the Napier Elementary School cafeteria.
This opportunity was provided by the Office of Mayor John Cooper and their commitment in supporting creative arts programming for the Napier - Sudekum Nashville community.
