Meharry Medical College, in partnership with the Urban League, Meharry-Vanderbilt Alliance and B.R.I.D.G.E. to Success program, will host the Black Girls in S.T.E.A.M. Summit on Saturday, April 15th. This event will be held at the Cal Turner Center for Student Education and is for Black young women in high school and college who are interested in a S.T.E.A.M. focused career.
The summit is from 8:30 am – 2:30 pm and free to attendees with breakfast and lunch provided. Clarice Phelps, the first Black woman recognized as discovering an element on the Periodic Table, will serve as our keynote speaker. Creative Girls Rock will lead the young women in a mental health art project. Rounding out the program, the young ladies will also receive valuable information from professionals in S.T.E.A.M. and human resources fields.
We invite you to encourage the young women in your lives and affiliated with your organization to attend. Please see the attached event flyer and click here or the flyer below for the registration.
