Creative Girls Rock®️ will conduct a 2nd Semester Back-2-School Drive for school-aged students under our Youth Development initiative after the winter break holiday. This back-school drive will be held within the Napier-Sudekum South Nashville community to help address the lack of resources available within this specific South Nashville neighborhood.
About The Napier-Sudekum community:
YOUTH VIOLENCE
The Napier-Sudekum community, where the majority of our students reside, is one of three districts in Nashville with the highest rates of violent incidents among youth.
POVERTY
Napier-Sudekum is home to the largest barracks style government housing complex in the United States. Approx. 72% of students live in these government housing units, where the average household income is $6,533.
LACK OF ACCESS TO RESOURCES
Without access to transportation, many students do not have the opportunity to get school supplies, an after school job, participate in their school sports teams, or experience life outside of their neighborhood.
