CGR Mural Project: Buchanan Art District

  • Slim & Huskys Rollout (map)

We are proud to be a recipient of the 2021 Metro Arts THRIVE grant that will connect female artists within the community to create a neighborhood mural in the Buchanan Art District.

Metro Nashville Arts Commission, or “Metro Arts”, is the office of Arts & Culture for the city of Nashville and Davidson County. The Metro Arts THRIVE grant funding empowers artists and organizations to build, strengthen and cultivate communities in Davidson County.

The CGR Mural Project will take place April 16-18, 2021,  a 3-day project that will begin by 9am each day at Slim & Husky's Roll Out - 1006 Buchanan Street, Nashville.

The Mural Lead Artist is Elisheba Israel Mrozik with supporting artists, Donna Woodley and LaKesha Moore, along with other artist volunteers.

Due to the current pandemic, we will not have any youth or other guests outside the contracted artists painting the mural to remain in the state mandated social distancing guidelines. However, you are welcome to drive-by or tune in our Instagram live stories to see updates of the mural.

Each youth that submitted a specific flower will be incorporated in the mural with their name or initials inside the flower. Please let us know asap if you would no longer like your youth’s name incorporated in the mural.
