CGR Mobile Mural Project

Classes begin March 2022

The CGR Mobile Mural Project is a program designed to teach young girls and women the proper tools and methods of creating a mural painting. This will provide an artistic and cultural experience by engaging and teaching participants the proper form of mural art-making, exhibiting and promoting cultural equity in project design, process and content.

All in-person workshops will be held at the One Drop Ink Art Gallery in Nashville, TN. Masks are encouraged. Materials and supplies will be provided for all participants at no cost.

Workshops:

Each workshop session will be a 2-day course. A minimum of 4 hours per 2-day course.

Workshop A: March 5-6, 2022 - 12:00 - 4:00 p.m.

Youth (Ages 6-11) *Must be accompanied by an adult

Workshop B: March 12-13, 2022 - 12:00 - 4:00 p.m.

Teens (Ages 12-17)

Workshop C: March 19-20, 2022 - 12:00 - 4:00 p.m.

Adults (Ages 18-54)

Workshop D: March 26-27, 2022 - 12:00 - 4:00 p.m.

Seniors (Ages 55 & up)

By participating in this program, artists will learn all the necessary tools to create a mural within their community using the resources provided through the CGR Mobile Mural Project. The mobile mural canvas is double sided for the instructor to teach and provide visual demonstrations and the other side will be available for the workshop participants. Our motto is “I do, You do, We Do”, which is a model that captures the essence of explicit teaching, with the gradual release of responsibility to our students.

The mobile murals will be showcased publicly at various facilities across the Greater Nashville community. Each mural will list the name of the participants to provide recognition to those who completed their artwork.

I/We understand and agree that these Images will become the property of CGR, and I/We irrevocably authorize CGR to publish or distribute  these Images for the purpose of publicizing its events, programs, and services or for any other lawful purpose. In addition, I/We waive any right to inspect or approve the finished product wherein my child’s likeness or my likeness appears. Additionally, I waive any rights to royalties or other compensation arising out of or related to the use of the Images.
